About Guldast-e-Mushtaq

Assalam-o-Alaikum!
I’m Muhamamd Haseeb Bilal, and I created this website (Guldast-e-Mushtaq) to share the beautiful, soul-touching kalams (spiritual poetry) of Haji Muhammad Mushtaq Qadri. His words have brought peace to my heart, and I hope they do the same for you. I wanted to make these beautiful Kalams easily accessible to everyone.

This project is dedicated to my parents as an Isaal-e-Sawab. If these kalams touch your heart, please pray for my parents.

About Haji Muhammad Mushtaq Qadri

Early Life

Mushtaq Qadri was born on the 18th of Ramadan, 1386 A.H. (around 1 January 1967) in Banoon, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. His father’s name was Akhlaq Ahmad. He lived in Faisalabad before moving to Karachi for good. In 1991, he got married. His marriage ceremony was led Muhammad Ilyas Qadri. He had four children: Obaid Raza Attari, Abdul Mustafa Attari, Faizan Attari, and Ashfaq Attari.

Religious Influences

Mushtaq Qadri Attari was closely connected to Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Qadri, the leader of Dawat-e-Islami, a worldwide non-political Islamic movement. In 1986, he joined the Qadriya spiritual path by promising loyalty (bay’ah) to it. He was also a teacher to Owais Qadri.

Rejecting Money for Work

Mushtaq Attari never took money for reciting naats. Even when music companies offered him handsome amounts for releasing his albums, he refused. He did not ask for travel money or accept payment for his recordings. All earnings from his work went to Dawat-e-Islami’s religious projects.

Death

In his final years, Mushtaq Qadri had throat and chest cancer and lost his ability to speak. He died on 29 Sha’aban 1423 A.H. (5 November 2002) in Karachi. Mushtaq Qadri's funeral prayer was held at Nishtar Park and led by Ilyas Attar Qadri. He was buried in Sahrā-e-Madinah, near the Toll Plaza in Karachi.
